Gabby (Jones) Goss
Co-Founder
Growing up in Kenilworth and a graduate of New Trier High School, Gabby's passion for working with children took root early, leading to five years as a dedicated camp counselor and nanny during her college years. After graduating from DePaul University, she explored corporate roles in Public Relations, Social Media, and Hospitality.
However, following her move to Lake Bluff in 2024, Gabby felt a strong desire to return to something she felt passionate about. Reconnecting with a family she had previously cared for, she gained valuable insight into the challenges of the childcare landscape. Recognizing a significant need, Gabby partnered with her sister-in-law, Katie, and together they founded Village Roots, determined to make a positive impact on the industry.
Katie (Goss) Behnami
Co-Founder
Growing up in Winnetka and a graduate of New Trier High School, Katie brings a deep understanding of the North Shore community. With over a decade of experience in corporate logistics, Katie decided to reconnect with a long-held passion for children and childcare in 2025, something that was sparked during her college years at DePaul University, where she frequently babysat.
As a mother of two young boys, and now residing in Glenview, she found herself drawn to nannying, bringing with her a unique understanding of the needs of both children and parents. This personal experience, combined with her professional background, provided her with a distinctive perspective on the childcare needs of families and providers. Inspired by a shared vision with her sister-in-law, Gabby, they joined forces to create Village Roots!
